There's something magical about Palm Springs. Our original impression of the desert oasis was that of a smaller Las Vegas but in all honesty, it has become the quintessential zone of relaxation and weekend writers retreat. We've been feeling a little bogged down with all that's on our plates lately so it was essential to our brains that we get out of town and surround ourselves with new forms of inspiration. Creativity always blossoms when you have a change of scenery and that's just what we needed.

We stayed at the appropriately named Movie Colony Hotel which is ideally close to the main downtown Palm Springs strip and a wonderful little hotel that feels like it's caught somewhere between the 1950's and today.

We ate at some fantastic places too (right near the hotel) which helped in making this a perfect weekend escape. We loved Cheeky's for brunch and Workshop Kitchen + Bar for dinner.

More photos of our desert escape to come later this week. Stay tuned!
