As you can see from our previous post, this week we're going behind the scenes of the Los Angeles production company, iam8bit, owned by Jon Gibson and Amanda White. They've really set the bar high for a collaborative, creative company and we are continually impressed with what they do, including the events and shows held at their studio and gallery space, which is located in the hip LA neighborhood of Echo Park.
We were able to attend and document two of these fantastic events. The first was an annual fundraising bash known as the Robot Chicken/DC Comics Art Show held by Stoopid Buddy Productions, which brings in quite a crowd. The second event we attended was a more intimate gallery show featuring the ultra cool Adopt-A-Bot robots by artist Brian Marshall. The robots are incredibly intricate and built using common objects, but take on a life of their own as you can see from our photos. We were also around to watch the unpacking of the incredible robot pieces with Amanda and Jon. Luckily, they all found a good home by the end of the night.
iam8bit hosts multiple events at their location during the year and we really think you should check it out. Liking them on Facebook is a great way to stay updated on their upcoming events. Such as the Grace and Ritual: Hidden show featuring 33 female artists opening this Friday and ongoing through May 18th. Hit it up!
