LOCATION SCOUT: Chinatown

Roman Polanksi is...an interesting person, but he probably did one of the best things in movie history: he made Chinatown. It’s one of our all time favorites - and all shot in and around Los Angeles. Segments of the city such as Pasadena, Hollywood, Koreatown, Downtown, Catalina Island, and more make their appearances. But maybe the most notable location of the film is the unforgettable scene, where Polanski's cameo character splits Jack Nicholson’s nose, filmed no less than a mile north of our apartment at one of Hollywood’s best kept secrets: the Lake Hollywood Reservoir.
